“You can set boundaries for your health and wellbeing as a creative business owner” pretty much sounds like a lie when you’re in the thick of it, doesn’t it? Your business is your baby! You built this thing from the ground up, and poured yourself into it. It’s probably hard to tell where your business stops and you begin sometimes. Maybe you just want to have the freedom to be a total night owl and talk to your clients whenever! I feel you, big time.
I believe that, as a creative business owner, you should seize every opportunity you can to merge your worlds. What I mean by that is this: your business is probably one of many worlds you live in. Who are you outside of your business? What do you like? What do you like to do? There is SO much value in finding new and fun ways to mush those together.
It’s no secret that being an at-home business owner is much different than working for someone else. This one is for my designer friends who are thinking of making the move to freelance, or anyone who is thinking about starting their own business online: there’s a few things you should know that they don’t talk about. That’s where I was a few months ago – I was working a corporate design job, and I was craving something more. I started my business in January 2021, and I haven’t looked back!
